I have heard that you should follow the mazhab of your parents And the mazhab you we raised on, is this true. ?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

And the mazhab you we raised on, is this true. For a revert to Islam can one change mazhabs given the fact that he was not raised in a certain mazhab? The reasons being , disagreements about salat , and what invalidates wudhu, not reciting fatiha behind an imam. If one was change mazhabs what are the rules to doing so , and most of all , is it permissible to change mazhab once , so that a person isn?t taking things he likes from one mazhab and discarding things he doesn’t like

Answer

It is compulsory to adhere to the rulings of one Madhab.

A revert to Islam should adopt one Madhab and adhere to all the rulings of that Madhab.
