Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Muhtaram

Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu

I’m looking for hawaala for the following Hadeeth . Is this correct

It is stated

in a Hadeeth

that if a person enters his house and does the following three things:

·         Makes Salaam – (whether anyone is in the house or not)

·         Recites Durood  Shareef once

·         Recites Surah Ikhlaas once

Allah Ta’ala will grant barakah in his sustenance. [Hisne Haseen]

Answer

The hadith in reference is not in the Arabic versions of Al Hisnul Haseen. We have reviewed the following three versions of the Arabic editions:

  1. Hasanayn Mohammed Makhluf’s edition
  2. Al Maktabatul Al ‘Asriyya Edition
  3. Al Hisnul Haseen with Imam Shawkani’s annotations- Muassasatul Kutub Athaqafiyyah

We also reviewed Shamila. None of the above have the hadith in reference. It is probable that this is an addition from the translator. Consider the following:

The translator states in the preface that this book contains notes and benefits of Maulana Idrees Sahib, the Urdu translator of the book.

Hisn-e-Haseen, p. I, Idara Impex

Hereunder is the hadith in reference.

Translation:

It has been reported from Sahl ibn Sa’d, may Allah be pleased with him, that a person came to the Prophet complaining to him about poverty and a difficult life. The Prophet said to him, ‘Whenever you enter your home say the salam whether someone is in the house or not. Then send salutations upon me and recite Suratul Ikhlas once.’ The person practiced on this advice. Allah granted him such a large amount of sustenance by which he even spent generously on his neighbors and relatives.

Allamah Sakhawi has recorded this hadith in Al Qawlul Badee’. Hafiz Ibnul Qayyim has recorded this hadith in his book Jilaaul Afhaam. Both have attributed this hadith to Hafiz Abu Musa Al Madini.[i] [ii]

Hafiz Sakhawi and Hafiz ibn Hajar Al Haytami have both declared this hadith to be ḍaʿīf.[iii]

This hadith is pertaining to fadail (virtues) and not ahkam (legal rulings); hence, it will be permissible to practice on this hadith.[iv]
