I hope to ask you a question on passing gas and breaking wudu. Is it correct as some websites state that a sound or smell is needed to break the wudu.
1.) Is this correct?
2.) Is this only if one has doubt about passing gas. For example, one is certain one has passed gas, but there was no sound or smell.
Walaikum assalam,
The hadiths about passing wind mean that: unless one is certain that one has broken one’s wudu, one’s wudu remains legally valid.
If you have mere doubts, your wudu is valid.
If you know (actually, not just based on waswasa) that you have passed gas, without doubts, then your wudu is broken, even in the rare case where this would happen without sound or smell.
