Cutting A Woman’s Hair

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta Azaadville

Question:

What is the ruling regarding women cutting the hair on their head? If the woman is married and her husband does not like long hair then will it be permissible for her to cut her hair in order to please her husband? If so then what would be the answer to
I’ve heard someone in my family saying that Mufti Saheb has given them the Fatwaa of Jawaaz for such a woman to cut her hair, is this true?

Answer:

The books of Fiqh (jurisprudence) are clear in this matter that it is Haram and sinful for a woman to cut her hair, even if her husband tells her to do so.

This rumour that our Darul-Ifta has given a Fatwa of Jawaaz is not true.
