I intend going for Haj next year and I need to know what is the rule regarding cutting the hair?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I intend going for Haj next year and I need to know the following: What is the rule regarding cutting the hair? I have heard different versions of this. 1. I was told that its compulsory to shave the head and if not this it not done, the Haj will be rendered null and void. 2. The other version I heard is that, it is permissble to cut the hair to one length. Which is the acceptable procedure?

Answer

In order to come out of Ihraam, it is compulsory to at least trim the hair. However, it is desirable to shave the hair of the entire head.
