Ibadat for Allah or for Jannah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Assalamoalikum Hazrat .. I got involved in a argument with a person who says ” IBADAT KHALIS ALLAH KAY LIAY HAY AGAR HAM IBADAT ALLAH KO CHOR KAR JANNAT KO PANAY KI NEYAT SAY KARAINGAY AUR JANNAT KI LALACH RAKHAINGAY TO RUSWAI AUR ZILLAT HI HAMARA MUQADAR HOGI”

I want to know Hazrat is this statement true and if yes then is it possible that someone can perform IBADAT by beleiving that JANNAT is my MAIN OBJECTIVE and OBTAINING ALLAH’s RAZA IS SECONDARY!

Arguments are no good. Try to avoid them as much as possible.

Jannat should not be the main goal. Allah should be before our eyes all the time.

However, if the thought of Jannah also comes to mind, there is no harm. Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam has told us to ask Allah for jannatul firdaws. Jannah is the place where Allah’s pleasure lies so we should aim for the highest ranks in Jannah.
