Answer:

In reference to your question, The name ‘Rathna’ is said to have Hindu origin. The meaning of the name is Pearl.

The meaning might sound ok, but our Prophet Muhammad صل الله عليه وسلم instructed that we keep good names.

“Verily you shall be called on the day of qiyaamah by your names and the names of you fathers, so beautify your names” (Abu Dawood)

It is also mentioned that the Prophet صل الله عليه وسلم changed the name of a Sahabiyya رضي الله عنها. Her name was برّٓة ie pious so it was changed to Zaynab.

Also he changed the name
عاصية (Disobedient/Sinful ) toجميلة (Beautiful woman). (Muslim)

Therefore, when choosing a name it is preferable to choose the name of Sahaaba and Tabieen Tabe’ tabieen رضي الله عنهم or from the pious predecessors رحمهم الله.
