Azaan if we pray namaaz at its beginning time

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

Assalamu alaykum,

If you are praying namaaz at its beginning time and with jamaat, do we need to give Azaan (for example at the university or college)?

Do we need to do Azaan for Maghrib if you are praying with jamaat at the university/college?

Jazakallah, may Allah reward you abundantly… Ameen

Answer

Azaan itself is Sunnat – the azaan of the masjid of the area is sufficient for the whole area, therefore if you are praying in the beginning time it would be better to give the Azaan.  However, for Maghrib you can suffice with Iqama.
