Cure for feeling low and depressed

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Assalamualikum respected Shaykh Abdur Raheem saheb,

It was a pleasure to see you in Vancouver recently. I need your opinion in certain matter.

I basically suffer from depression and for a long a time taking anti-depressive drugs. The worse was when I was not able to perform the work and lost my job 2 years ago. Alhamdulilah for 1 and a half years I tried different things and have succeeding in reducing my medicine significantly. However all this time I was not working. Now, I am looking for work and also offered a position to start soon, but I still have fear that what would happen if I were not able to perform, as I still feel mentally and physically weak.

Coming to my question, I wanted to practice some kind of zikr using the methods of taking bayyah. However I do not know anybody in particular. My goal is to get help from Allah directly with use of zikr and following his commands and increasing my amal. I do try as much as I could to do the daily tableeghi aamals.

1. Could you recommend me something for this?
2. Could you recommend any azkar for mental and physical health and mental health?

Jazakallahukhairan.

Walaikumussalam w w

Jazakallah for your compliments. May Allah protect you and fulfil Allah your needs.

Getting Bay’at with whom you feel comfortable will be beneficial for you.

Normal adhkaar can be ok for your condition. Four tasbeehat morning and evening.
100 x la ilaha illallah,
100 x Subhanllah wal hamdulillah wa la ilaha illallahu wallahu Akbar
100x astaghfirullah
100x Durood shareef

Also read the dua for all problems mentioned on this website.

Also when you’re really down ponder over the meaning of

يا الله يا رحمان يا رحيم يا عليم يا حكيم

Also repeat these Asmal husna as often as possible.

Wassalam
