Using homoeopathic medication containing alcohol

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: It is unlawful to use alcohol in Islam. But most homeopathic medicines have alcohol, sometimes making upto 90% composition. Is it halaal (lawful) to use these medicines as these medicines are much safer than any other ?

Bismillaah

A: Look for a halaal substitute, failing which you may use this type of medication.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
