Menses start right before Maghrib and reward for fasting

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org
Question:  Assalamu alaikum
My question is that during Ramadan, after fasting the entire day and doing as many good deeds as possible with the intention to receive rewards from Allah SWT, if my menses begin just a few minutes before breaking fast during maghrib, will I still receive the rewards for fasting that day even though I have to make it up later?

Answer:

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

Assalam’aleykum, I pray this finds you in the best of states.

It was your duty to fast at the beginning of the day and, and by fulfilling it, you will. be rewarded even though that duty has been lifted before the end of the day.

Allah Most High has said: “And be patient, for Allah does not let the reward of the righteous go to waste.” [ 11.115]

Allah Most High has commanded menstruating women and women in a state of lochia (post-natal bleeding) to refrain from the ritual prayer and ritual fasting. Thus, if a menstruating woman fulfills this command intending to submit to Allah’s order, she is actually worshiping Allah the entire time she refrains from the ritual prayer and ritual fasting and will be rewarded for this.

And Allah knows best.
