my mum has been on her periods for about a week, she has finished now. but a few days later she started discharging so can she pray Namaaz?
Answer:
Suppose that the period began on the first day of the month and continued till the seventh day. Thereafter it stopped on the eight and ninth, but started again on the tenth day. After the tenth day, it did not continue. These ten days will be counted as days of menstruation and performing Salaah in them is not correct. If however the period started again on the tenth day and continued or it stopped on the seventh to the tenth day and then started on the eleventh day, in these two cases, the menstruation period will only be the first seven days. Whatever blood is seen after the seventh day is not considered part of the menstruation period therefore, from the eighth day she will be considered clean and performing Salaah (from the eighth day) will be necessary.
