Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmathullahi wa Barakathuhu
May Allah reward you all. What is the difference between the Ahl e Hadees and Ghair Muqallideen? If those who are connected to the Ahl e Hadees Sect are not correct then what is the authenticity of the book “Thaqwiyathul Eeman” of Moulavi Ismail Shaheed? Apart from this is it correct to peruse the writings of Moulana Ibthisam Ilahi Zaheer Sahib because one of his books named “Al barelwia” is under perusal now. Jazakallah Fi Amanillah.

Let it be known that basically the word Ahl e Hadees was used to define the Muhaddiseen (Expert Scholars of Hadees) however the Ghair Muqallideen (Those who do not follow any of the four Imams) used this term for themselves. Therefore in the present situation there is no difference between the so called Sect of Ahl e Hadees and Ghairi Muqallideen. These are two names of a single Sect.
It appears from the tone of the question of the questioner that he presumes Moulana Isma’il Shaheed Rahimahullah to be a Ghairi Muqallid. If it is so then it is a confusion from his part. Moulana Isma’il Shaheed was a Muqallid and was not a Ghairi Muqallid and his book Thaqwiyathul Eeman is a very great authentic masterpiece containing motivating facts of rectification in Eemaan in which Moulana Isma’il Shaheed Rahimahullah has established Thowheed (Oneness) and negated Shirk (Polytheism) in the light of Qur’an and Hadees.
We are not aware about the compilation of Moulana Ibthisam Ilahi Zubair. It is better if it is sent over here or seen to a religious scholar and sought guidance on it.
