What is the Shar’i standard of having Qura’an Khawani for the sake of Eesal e Sawab?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا
For the purpose of Isal e Sawab, having Qur’an Khwani is beyond doubt correct and permissible. However, it is necessary to take care of certain matters in this regard. Firstly, the purpose of whoever participate in Qur’an Khwani should be only the pleasure of Allah. Should not be under compulsion of embarrassment or show off to the household of the deceased and nor any criticism be leveled at absentees, in the contrary priority should be given to individual recital rather than collective Qur’an Khwani since there is more sincerity (Ikhlas) in it.
Secondly, the Qur’an Khwani should not be against any remuneration, else, when the reciters themselves do not get any Sawab , what Sawab could they impart upon the deceased. Also it should not be realized necessary to have 3rd, 4th, 7th, 10th or 40th etc.. If major heirs of the deceased arrange a function with their personal wealth, Sawab of what is fed on poor and needy too would be attained and what is fed to the friends and relatives stayed behind as the function. Nevertheless, it becomes Makrooh if any of the said dates are considered to be essential and one should not participate in such case. And if the wealth of minor heirs of the deceased too is contributed in the function then consuming food in such a function is not permissible according to Shari’a and it is necessary to abstain from it.
Allah knows best.
