Warning against dealing in interest

Is there an authentic narration which states that the one who deals in interest (riba) will be given a sword and told to fight Allah Ta’ala on the day of judgement?

Answer

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) says: ” On the day of judgement it will be said to those who use to deal in interest, take your weapon for battle”.

(Tafsir Ibn Abi Hatim, Tafsir At Tabari and Tafsir Ibn kathir, Surah: 2 verse: 275)

The above narration is suitable to quote as none of the narrators have been discredited.

Note: This narration is reported as the statement of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) and not Nabi (sallalallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best
