The importance of seeking knowledge with sincerity

Is this narration authentic?

“Whoever learns knowledge for other than the sake of Allah, or intends by it other than Allah, then let him prepare his abode in the fire”

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi and Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma). Imam Tirmidhi has declared the Hadith sound (hasan).

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2655)
