What is the reference for this Hadith?
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“People wake up in the morning and they bargain with their souls. There are among them those who buy freedom for their souls [from the fire of Jahannam, by carrying out good deeds and obeying Allah] and there are others who sell their souls unto destruction.”
Answer:
Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Malik Al Ash’ari (radiyallahu ‘anhu).
