The best person and best neighbour in the Sight of Allah Ta’ala

Is this narration authentic?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The best person in the sight of Allah is the one who is best to his companion. And the best neighbour in the sight of Allah is the one that is best to his neighbour.”

Answer

Imams Tirmidhi and Ahmad (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (radiyallahu ‘anhuma).

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1944, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 2 pg. 168)

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith sound (hasanun gharib). Imams Ibn Khuzaymah and Ibn Hibban (rahimahumallah) have declared the Hadith authentic.

(Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, 2539, Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 519)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
