Did any other Nabi ride the Buraq?

Was the Buraq ridden by any other Nabi besides Nabi Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)?

Answer

Imam Fakihi (rahimahullah) has recorded a narration which states that Ibrahim (‘alayhis salam) would visit Isma’il and his mother in Makkah, travelling [from Palestine] on the Buraq.  Some versions state he would visit them once a month, leaving in the morning and he would return in time to take an afternoon siesta.

Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has graded one of these chains sound (hasan).

(Akhbaru Makkah; Refer: Fathul Bari, Hadith: 3364, vol. 6 pg. 404)

Imam Ibn Dihyah (rahimahullah) was of the view that the Buraq was only used by Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). However, Hafiz Ibn Hajar and ‘Allamah ‘Ayni (rahimahullah) have cited a narration from Nasai, which states, ‘[The Buraq] was subservient to other Ambiya before Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) then cites other narrations which prove that other Ambiya did indeed use the Buraq as a conveyance.

(Fathul Bari, Hadith: 3887, vol. 7 pg. 207 and ‘Umdatul Qari, Hadith: 3887)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
