Giving Quran to non-muslim

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwa.org.au
I was just browsing your answers and I see that we cannot touch a Quran translation that doesn’t have the Arabic text without wudu. What happens if I give an English Quran to a non-muslim, do i need to teach them wudu?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

At the outset, it should be noted that printing only the translation of the Quran without the Arabic text is not permissible by the consensus of all the jurists. Buying and selling translation of the Quran that does not include the Arabic text is also not permissible, as doing so will fall under assisting in a sinful act.

Printing the translation of the Quran along with the Arabic text of the Quran, however, is permissible.

It will be permissible to give a non-Muslim the translation of the Quran (that also has the Arabic text) if you are satisfied that he will not disrespect it. Also, you should tell him to always take a ghusl before reading it.
