Giving sadaqa to one’s siblings

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwa.org.au
Can we give sadaqa to our real brother or sister?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Yes, it is permissible to give sadaqa (voluntary charity) to one’s brothers and sisters. One may even give zakat (compulsory charity) to one’s brothers and sisters provided that they qualify to receive zakat. In fact, one will get more rewards by giving sadaqa and zakat to one’s brothers and sisters than by giving sadaqa and zakat to strangers.

And Allah knows best.
