Fateha of Hazrat Imam Ja`far (Allah be pleased with him)

On the 22nd of Rajab, many people organize Fateha of Hazrat Imam Jafar (RA) at their place. I should be much grateful to you if you could tell me :- Is there any proof for doing it. What are the advantages and disadvantages in doing it. What is the best way in doing the Fateha.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

There is no proof for doing it. In itself it would not be reprehensible were it not that it is one of the Shi`i innovations and as such has to be judged as an implied endorsement of their rejection of truth and disrespect of the Prophet’s close Companions, upon him and them blessings and peace.

The best way would be to include Ja`far’s grandfather, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, Allah be well-pleased with them, among its beneficiaries.
