Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abid Dunya (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration. Sufyan Thawri (rahimahullah) reports, ‘It would be said, A Mu’min is in need of patience just as he is in need of food and drink.’

يحتاج المؤمن إلى الصبر كما يحتاج إلى الطعام والشراب
