Question
* When you perform Tawaf, and your wudhu breaks, do you have to repeat the entire Tawaf?
* If not, can you complete the number of rounds left?
* Is Wudhu necessary for Safah Marwah, and Tawaf?
* I have shared the good news with many people, that I am going for Umrah, but my heart is uneasy as it feels like, I am doing riya, when people compliment how fortunate, that I am going for the fourth time, and to Masjid Al-Aqsa, it does make me feel proud. Is this double feeling/intention riya, or waswasa?

Answer:
- To be in the state of wudhu during tawaf is wajib (compulsory) and therefore will need to be renewed if the wudhu is broken. After the renewal of the wudhu, the person will continue from where they had left off and will not be required to start the tawaf from the beginning.[1]
- The condition for the permissibility and completion of ‘Saee’ between Safa and Marwah is that the person has wudhu at the time of performing tawaf. If after performing the tawaf, one had broken their wudhu it will remain permissible for them to complete their ‘Saee’ even without renewing the wudhu.[2]
- Ibn Abbas reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: If anyone wants to have his deeds widely publicised, Allah will publicise (his humiliation). And if anyone makes a hypocritical display (of his deeds) Allah will make a display of him.[3]
Informing others of a good deed can be done for 2 reasons:
- So that others can be encouraged to do the same or request dua from them. If this is the intention, then it is commendable and inshallah the person will be rewarded for it.
- To make others aware of it so that they may be complimented and that is all that they receive from their good deed.
In accordance with the above Hadith, the person who informs others to be praised, Allah will make it known on the day of Judgement the ill intention made for the deed.
In regards to your question, if you feel that by informing others your sincerity and intentions will be diluted with other motives other than seeking the pleasure of Allah, it would be best to avoid it.
It was the advice of my beloved teacher that before doing any good deed to take a step back and renew the intention to make it solely for the sake of Allah.
