Yes, it is perfectly fine to do that. One is not changing the Qur’an or the Hadith. One is merely saying a prayer (du’a) that is like one that comes in the Qur’an or the Hadith.
It is also important to note that prayer (du’a) is generally recommended, and one does not have to limit oneself to the prayers that come in the Qur’an and Hadith.
