What is the difference between Salafis and traditional scholars of Medina University?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Who are Salafis? Are they a new line of bidat? I have faced a lot of criticism from these people for being a part of dawat and tabligh. In every step they give reference from the scholars of Medina University. I am really confused. Please help.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 1436/1108/D=01/1434)

Those who call themselves Salafi some of them are the followers of Imam Ahmad ibn Hambal (رحمة الله) and they do not consider taqlid of four imams bad, they hate shirk and bidat, and they are amongst Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamah. Some Ghair Muqallid also call themselves Salafi, they accuse the four imams and consider taqlid as shirk. They differ from the ruling of majority of Ummah regarding three talaq in one meeting. They call twenty rakah tarawih as bidah. They are not from Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamah. You should be attached with tablighi jamah and should attend the meeting of pious Ulama. You should not pay any attention towards the criticism of the Ghair Muqallidin.
