Sweating on the Day of Judgement

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Q. Will people be drowning in their sweat on the Day of Judgement based on their bad deeds or is it just generally everyone will be sweating profusely because of the sun right over our heads?

A. On the day of Judgement, people will be drowning in their sweat based on the extent (amount) of their bad deeds.

Regarding this, the Prophet (SAS) is reported to have said, ‘The sun will come close to the creation on the Day of Judgement until it will be like one mile from them. People will then drown to the extent of their actions. From among them, there will be those who will be in their sweat up to their ankles. Others will be up to their knees. Some will be in sweat up to their waist, and others will be in sweat up to their mouths.’ (Recorded by Imam Muslim)

From the above tradition, it is clearly seen that one will be in sweat in accordance to the amount of sins he committed.

And Allah knows best.
