Is the saliva and sweat of a dog impure?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by TheMufti.com

Q. A dog passed by me and rubbed itself onto my clothes. Can I perform Salaah in the same clothes? I was told that only if a dog licks your clothing, your Salaah will be invalid?

A. The saliva and sweat of a dog are impure. As such, if the saliva or sweat of a dog falls on any part of one’s clothing, the clothing will be impure which will affect the validity of ones Salaah. The mere rubbing of a dog on ones clothing without any sweat on its skin or body does not make ones clothing impure or effect the validity of ones Salaah. (Shaami 1/208)
