Excessive sweating while walking, cooking or sitting.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by IslamicSolutions.org

Shortened Question:

Excessive sweating while walking, cooking or sitting.

Question:

Asalamu alaikum, I sweat a lot while walking, cooking or sitting. Sometimes after sitting on a chair or sofa in one position for too long, I notice that the chair or sofa tends to get moist (not because of anything coming out) due to sweat. Do I need to take ghusl?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The discharging of sweat does not break your ghusl. However, if the excessive sweating leads to a bad odour, it is advisable to take a bath to avoid inconveniencing people around you.
