Is it Sunnah to clean ears from earwax (mel) or is it just good manners and cleanliness?

Cleanliness is a very important part of Imaan; cleaning the ears is part of this cleanliness, therefore not only would it be classified as sunnah – meaning a practice of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, who would always keep himself clean – but it is also the duty of every Muslim.
