Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration as the statement of the famous Tabi’i; Imam Sha’bi (rahimahullah).

Translation
Qiyamah will not occur until knowledge becomes ignorance and ignorance is regarded as knowledge
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.

تعليقات الشيخ محمد عوامة على مصنف ابن أبي شيبة (٣٨٧٤٣): في إسناده مجالد، ولا يضر، فمؤيدات هذا الخبر كثيرة، وكل ما ورد مما يدل على انعكاس الأحوال في آخر الزمن: فهو مؤيد لهذا القول، ومن ذلك: «أن تلد الأمة ربتها، وأن ترى الحفاة العراة..» وغيره وغيره كثير.
