My question is that wearing of that is haram or can any one wear it, if their in-laws stressing to wear then what is the fatwa for it. Kindly give me a good description for it, that from where that tradition is followed by Muslims and why.

If a person wears chain or some other object for beautifying oneself, given that the object does not represent something peculiar, than there is nothing wrong with that. If people of other beliefs associate something with the object, which is contradictory to the beliefs of Islam, then Muslims should not have similar beliefs with the object. The ornaments should be considered jewelry to beautify one’s body.
