Who are khutub and abdaal, some people deny that there is nothing like that can you please tell us that whether they exist or not if so then how can we know them and can you tell us their quantity
Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (Rahmatullah Alaih) in his Book ‘Bawadir-wa-Nawadir’ mentioned from Ali (r.a.) sayings about the presence of Abdaal and Khutubs and their reality.
Considering these realities, the teachings of Sufia Akraam and Ulama-e-Akraam are common and widespread. They all endorse the presence of Abdaal & Akhtaab. There are two types of Buzurg (Righteous Ulema); one is of Tashreehi nature and the other is of Takweeni nature. Everyone knows about Tashreehi (like for example Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani Rahmatullah Alaih. etc.,). However, with respect to the existence of Takweeni Buzurg (Righteous Ulama), it’s mentioned in the holy quran, for example Qizar (Alaihe salaam).
There is a complete Nizam of Abdaal and Khutub and its reality is confirmed and accepted by all the Ahle-Haq Ulamas.
