Salaat –  Is one rakat WAJIB-UL-WITR allowed ?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org
Is praying one rakat of WAJIB-UL-WITR allowed in Islam? Is converting of ayat in 2 numbers allowed in islam(786 is used as bismillah hir rahman nir raheem) there are persons whom Allah has granted with some powers he convert ayat in 2 numbers and help people in there problems with out taking anything is doing such kind of thing allowed in Islam
According to the research of Hanafi Maslak, one rakaat witr is not correct. There is no such salaat of one rakaat, therefore according to Hanafi Maslak, Wajib-ul-Witr salaat has complete three rakaats. This is the Ijtehad (Research) of Imam Abu Hanifa (Rahmatullah Alaih).
Converting Ayaat into numbers does not become a complete alternate form of that specific Ayaat. But using Ayaat and converting them into numbers for Istikbaraat (seeking barkaats) is permissible. It is not against the shariah and there is no such Hukum or Nafi in Shariat regarding this type of numerical conversion of Ayaat. But any converted number cannot be taken as complete Ayaat Hukum. Numbers cannot take the place of an Ayaat.
If someone writes 786, it will not become complete alternate of Bismillah-Hirrahman-Nirraheem, and by saying 786, it will not be considered as reading Bismillah-Hirrahman-Nirraheem or getting reward of it. Other than that, by using 786 and other numbers for any type of treatment or cure purposes is PERMISSIBLE and it is not against the Shariah.
