Church Mawlid?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Not Assigned

Is it appropriate to pray or hold mawlids in a church? Especially with large crosses and carvings of saints inside?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Wa Alaykum Assalam wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu,

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful & Compassionate

As previously mentioned that “in the Hanafi School, it is prohibitively disliked and sinful to enter the worship places of disbelievers without a strong, overwhelming interest (such as giving a talk on Islam, etc)”. He also stated that “it would be prohibitively disliked to enter a Hindu temple, being a place where shirk is committed. The scholars tell us (based on explicit Prophetic hadiths) that such places are the gathering places of devils.”

Given that, it would normally be highly disliked to hold a mawlid at a Church.
