Q: Muslims have been promised a mujaddid at every turn of the century. Who is this person in the present time?
A: The Ulama explain that the Hadith is not necessarily confined to a single individual. At times it could refer to an individual and at times it could refer to a whole group of people whom Allah Ta’ala uses to revive Deen and wipe out the evil customs that people have tried to innovate in Deen. It is the feeling of some Ulama that in the field of sulook, Hazrat Moulana Ashraf Ali Thaanwi (Rahmatullahi Alayh) was the mujaddid, in the field of Hadith, Hazrat Moulana Anwar Sha Kashmiri (Rahmatullahi Alayh) and Hazrat Sheikh Moulana Zakariyya (Rahmatullahi Alayh) were the mujaddids and is the field of Tableegh, Hazrat Moulana Ilyas (Rahmatullahi Alayh) was the mujaddid.
And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
