Premarital relationship

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by

Q: I was in love with a Muslim girl and my parents agreed to get me married to her. They were not happy about it as it is not Islamic but I forced them to say yes. My parents told the girl’s parents that they will get me married to the girl once my elder siblings get married, its been 2 years now and the girl’s family doesn’t wants to wait any further. Her family either want us to get married or they will force the girl to marry someone else.

My parents sill need about 3-6 months time to get me married to her and the girl’s family is not ready to wait. I am not able to convince either my parents or her’s. I understand that it was wrong for me to fall in love and to force my parents to accept it.I ask for Allah’s forgiveness every day and now I want to do what is right. I cant leave a girl after making a promise to marry her and I also can’t hurt my parents any further. Please advice what is the correct next step for me as per Islam. Both me and the girl are 26 years old.

A: Make the nikaah in whichever way and continue.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
