Can Zuhr and Asr be prayed together, and Maghrib and Isha be prayed together? What is the ruling?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria
Is it permissible to pray Zuhr and Asr prayers together? Similarly, is it permissible to pray Maghrib and Isha prayers together? What is the ruling regarding this?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

It is a major sin to perform two Salah in one time without a proper excuse. For this reason one must avoid performing two Salah, whether Zuhr and Asr, or Maghrib and Isha in one time. However, if one is sick or traveling, it is permissible to combine two Salah in such a way that one performs Zuhr Salah in the ending of its time and then immediately after, performs Asr Salah in the beginning of its time, and similarly, Maghrib in the ending of its time and Isha in the beginning of its time immediately after.
