Surah Rahman is the beauty of the Quran

Question

What is meant by the narration which states that Surah Ar-Rahman is the bride of the Quran?

Answer

Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahullah) has recorded the narration in question.

Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that he heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say: “Every thing has a bride and the bride of the Quran is [Surah] Ar Rahman.”

(Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 2265. See the authenticity here)

This narration explains that everything has beauty, adornment and attraction and the beauty of the Quran is Surah Ar Rahman. Since Surah Rahman discusses the bounties of Allah showered upon us in this world and His favours in the Hereafter as well as the description of the maidens of Jannah [hurs] who will be the brides of Jannah, this Surah has been called the bride of the Quran.

(Mirqatul Mafatih, Hadith: 2180. Also see: Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 7319)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
