Another narration regarding a tree in Jannah for each time we say subhanallah and other adhkar

Question

What is the source of this Hadith?

من قال: سبحان الله، والحمد لله، ولا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر غرس له بكل واحدة منهن شجرة في الجنة

Answer

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma).

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Whoever says Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah and Allahu Akbar, Allah will plant a tree in Jannah for him for each of these words.”

(Al Mu’jamul Awsat, Hadith: 8470)

‘Allamah Mundhiri (rahimahullah) has declared the chain sound (وإسناده حسن لا بأس به في المتابعات) and ‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) states that the the narrators have been declared credible (رجاله موثقون).

(Targhib, vol. 2 pg. 425)
