Another narration on fasting is a shield

Is this narration authentic?

قال ربنا عز وجل الصيام جنة يستجن بها العبد من النار وهو لي وأنا أجزي به

Answer:

This narration is recorded in Musnad Ahmad on the authority of Sayyiduna Jabir (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 3 pg. 341 and pg. 396)

‘Allamah Mundhiri and ‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahumallah) have declared the chain sound (hasan).

(Targhib, vol. 2 pg. 83, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 3 pg. 180)

Translation

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Our Rabb ‘Azza Wa Jalla said: ‘Fasting is a shield which a person will use against the Fire, it [fasting] is for Me and I will give the reward for it.’”
