Every Jannati will have two wives of the world

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by

Please tell me is there any Hadith which speaks about how many human wives each person will get in Jannah, especially those who never got married in dunya. I read in a Hadith each person will have two wives, they are human wives or hurs?

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu’anhu) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) mentioned -in a lengthy Hadith- :

‘every male in Jannat will have two wives.’

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3246 and Sahih Muslim Hadith 7076)

‘Allamah Nawawi, Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahumallah) and others have explained that this refers to each Jannati (inhabitant of Jannah) having two wives from the women of the world, i.e, Human wives, besides the Hurs.

(Al-Minhaj, Hadith: 7076 and Fathul Bari, Hadith: 3246)

See here for the number of Hurs some Jannatis will have.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
