How to prepare for the waves of calamities

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Prepare for the waves of calamities through du’a and turning to Allah in humility.”

Answer:

This narration is recorded in Al Marasil of Imam Abu Dawud and Shu’abul Iman as part of a longer narration.

Arabic text and translation

استقبلوا أمواج البلاء بالدعاء والتضرع

Prepare for the waves of calamity [in advance] by engaging in du’a and turning to Allah in humility.
