Haste is from Shaytan

What is the authenticity of the following Hadith?

التأني من الله ، والعجلة من الشيطان ، وما أحد أكثر معاذير من الله ، وما من شيء أحب إلى الله من الحمد

Answer

Imam Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah (rahimahullah), Imam Abu Ya’la (rahimahullah) and others have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

(Musnad Abu Ya’la, Hadith: 4256. Refer: Al Matalibul ‘Aliyah, Hadith: 2814)

‘Allamah Mundhiri and Hafiz Haythami (rahimahumallah) have declared the narrators reliable.

(Targhib, vol. 2 pg. 437 and vol. 3 pg. 418, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 8 pg. 19)

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has also recorded the first part of this narration.

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2012)

Translation

Composure/being unhurried is from Allah and haste is from Shaytan. There is none more willing to accept excuses than Allah and there is nothing more beloved to Allah than praising [him].

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
