‘The one who is silent about the truth is a dumb Shaytan’ a Hadith?

Is the following a Hadith and can we quote it?

The one who is silent about the truth is a dumb Shaytan

I was given the following reference for it: Al-Mu’jam al-Kabir-Tabarani.

Answer

I have not come across this Hadith in the mentioned reference, or any of the authentic Hadith books.

This has been cited as the statement of Abu ‘Ali Ad Daqqaq (rahimahullah) -a saint of the past, and should be quoted as such.

Abul Qasim Al Qushayri (rahimahullah) mentions: “I heard Abu ‘Ali Ad Daqqaq (rahimahullah) say, ‘Whoever remains silent from the truth is a dumb devil’,
