Mufti shb hope you are well
Mufti shb i heard some 1 saying in a bayaan that pull siraat is up till 500 years down for 500 years this is the length of pull siraat
Plz need clarification according to authentic ahaadeeth
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
We have not come across the narration of 500 years.
However, Fudhail Bin Iyaadh Rahimahullah is recorded to have said: [1]
‘I have heard that the bridge over Jahannam is the distance of 15,000 (fifteen thousand) years journey.
5000 years upwards, 5000 years straight and 5000 years down’
(Fathul Baari)
The above narration regarding 15,000 years can be quoted without attributing it to Nabi (ﷺ).
One should be extremely cautious in attributing narrations to Nabi (ﷺ).
