What is the punishment for a seller who exaggerates the quality of a product?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria
Assalamu alaikum,Mufti sahab……….If a person wants to sell a thing and the seller exaggerates the quality of that saying that this computer has such and such things etc. whereas it does not have that much of things in it, will the seller be counted as a Sinner and what are the punishment recorded in Ahadees in this connection?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent and the Most Merciful
Let it be known that exaggerating the quality of an item of a deal while such features are not actually found in it, is impermissible and a severe crime based on deceit. And harsh punishments are recorded for such a person to the extent that it is mentioned in a Hadees that during the Day of Judgement Allah Ta’ala would not look at this person with His Mercy. Hence refraining from the aforesaid practice and describing only the actual features attributed to it is essential.

Allah knows best.
