Menstruating woman sitting in the masjid

Question

Is a woman who has haidh allowed to sit in the masjid?

A woman in the state of Haidh (menses) is not permitted to enter or sit in the masjid. [1]

المحيط البرهاني في الفقه النعماني (1/ 217)

ومنها: أن لا تدخل المسجد قال عليه السلام: «لا أحل المسجد لحائض ولا جنب» . ولأن ما بها من الأذى فوق الجنابة لتمكنها من إزالة أذى الجنابة دون أذى الحيض، ثم الجنابة تمنعها عن دخول المسجد فالحيض أولى
