Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah

How is Hajj performed?

Answer:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. The hajj is compulsory for everyone who meets the conditions. Within the Hanafi school, there are different types of hajj: qiran, tamattuʿ and ifrad. The topic of hajj is too wide to be dealt with in an article. For the conditions, pillars, wajibat etc. acts of hajj please refer to: “Ascent to Felicity, a Manual on Islamic Creed and Hanafi Jurisprudence” by Sheikh Abu ‘l-Ikhlas al-Shurunbulali.
