Eating Rabbit Fed On Haraam

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta Azaadville

Question:

If a rabbit is fed on Haraam food, can you slaughter and eat it?

Answer:

It will be permissible to eat the meat of such a rabbit which has been fed Haram. However, if there is a foul odour coming from the meat of such an animal due to it living off filth or most of its diet being impure, it will be Makrooh to partake of it. To remedy the situation, one may keep such an animal in isolation—feeding it clean and pure food—for a few days until this odour no longer remains. The amount of days it should be kept in isolation will vary depending on the size of the animal; a rabbit should be kept for 3 days if its meat gives off such an odour
